What child care facilities are available in Cobar?

Kubby House Child Care Centre is a 29 place long day care centre.
We are a community based centre who is overseen by a management committee consisting of volunteer parents.

Kubby House follows the 'Emergent Curriculum' style of programming. This style allows the children to make their own program by doing the activities that they would like to do rather setting up activities that they think the children would like to do.

Working/studying parents, children at risk of harm and Aboriginal children have priority of access to Kubby House. We do also cater for parents wanting respite care. The centre is open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. 49 weeks per year except public holidays and 3 weeks over at Christmas time.

Our centre is made up of 2 rooms. A Toddler Room, which takes children aged between 6 weeks and 3 years, and a Preschool Room which takes children aged between 3 and 5 years of age.

The Centre employs three staff in Toddle Room and two in the Preschool Room. We currently have 3 staff members studying. We have an Administration Officer who works 9am-12 Noon on Tuesday and 12 Noon to 5pm on Thursday.

As a Catholic Primary School, St John's is concerned with the development of each student as a happy, competent person, who can recognise and respond in love to God's daily call to him/her in Australia's changing multi-cultural society.

The high standard of education at this school provides for a balance of intellectual, creative and athletic activities. Basic skills in communicating, computing, thinking and the sciences are stressed.

Every effort is made to develop in each student a desire for learning. Individual differences are recognised and planned programs implemented. We encourage the challenge of personal achievement and spiritual growth. A Pastoral approach is important in assisting students toward a personal self-discipline and in developing a sense of responsibility for themselves. It is our hope to open the student's minds; brighten their imagination and encourage their ability to act and choose. To help them become truly compassionate and just human beings.
