About Cobar

Cobar, 12km south of CSA Mine, is a historic mining town with origins dating back to the 1870s. Today, Cobar is a progressive regional centre with a population of 5,000. The town is primarily based around the mining and agricultural industries and features modern amenities including first class education, health and social facilities.

Weather
Cobar has a semi-arid climate with hot summers and cool to mild winters. Winter nights can be quite cold.

Average monthly temperatures range from 2°C to 20°C in winter and between 14°C to 39°C in summer. Most of the rainfall occurs in summer and early spring with a yearly average of 390mm. The humidity in Cobar is low.
